Rob Hamby, Pastor

Rob is a native of Greenville, SC and a graduate of The Citadel. He met his wife Kendall, of Moncks Corner, while she was a student at the College of Charleston. They married in 1995 following their graduation from college and lived in Charleston where Rob worked as a banker on Broad Street and Kendall worked as a school teacher at Sullivan's Island Elementary. In 1996, Rob and Kendall moved to St. Louis, MO to attend Covenant Theological Seminary. From 2000-2011 Rob served as a Campus Minister with RUF at both Furman University and Texas Christian University. Rob served as an Assistant Pastor at Providence Presbyterian Church in Dallas from 2011-2013. In 2013 Rob planted Mercy Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Rob and Kendall have two children, Wells and Simeon.

 

Matt Statham, Director of Ministry

Matt comes to Charleston by way of Dallas, TX. There, he and his wife, Paige met and married. In ministry, Matt was a Youth Director in Atlanta, served RUF at Penn State as an intern and most recently, both oversaw the Elementary ministry at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, while also serving Mercy Presbyterian as their Director of Finance and Accounting. Paige, as an educator, has worked as an elementary school teacher, as well as a special ed resource teacher. In Charleston, she is working at Daniel Island School as the Elementary Resource Teacher. The Stathams have grown to love their new home in Charleston with their son, Henry.

 

EmmaLee Boykin, Office Administrator

Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, EmmaLee grew up along Clements Ferry and has witnessed our vibrant community change and grow over the years. After earning her degree from the College of Charleston in 2014, with a double major in Historic Preservation/Community Planning and Arts Management, EmmaLee gained valuable experience working with several local non-profits and community partners. Her roles at the College of Charleston, Historic Charleston Foundation, Drayton Hall, The South Carolina Historical Society, the Medical University of South Carolina, and Drawing Near to God have deepened her appreciation for cultural resources and their impact on individuals and communities.

At Point Hope, EmmaLee is dedicated to supporting our parishioners and serves as the primary contact for all administrative needs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Charlie, and their three children: Sadie, Bonnie, and Charles Jr. (Chip). As you can imagine, they keep her wonderfully busy!

Anna Wagner, Ministry Staff

Anna Wagner is a member of our ministry staff, bringing energy to her role. Originally from Anderson, South Carolina, Anna is a proud graduate of Clemson University. She loves spending time outdoors, especially rollerblading, where she finds joy in God’s creation. When she's not on her skates, you can find her picking her banjo, sharing music and happiness with those around her. Anna believes in building community through service and is excited to connect with others on their walk with Jesus.

Kyra Spivey, Outreach & Service Coordinator

With over 20 years of dedicated service, Kyra Spivey focuses on outreach locally and internationally. Her journey began with mission trips to Haiti, and she now collaborates with organizations like the Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation to support families of children with terminal illnesses.

As Area Director for Flashes of Hope and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, Kyra provides photography for children with cancer and grieving families. She also leads disaster relief through MNA Disaster Response and coordinates Mission Mullins to connect local churches with community needs.

A recipient of the Boundless Compassion Award in 2015, Kyra serves on the Marion County FCA Board and the Lowcountry FCA Leadership Board. After raising her three children in Mullins, SC, she and her husband Spider moved to Charleston in 2023 and are excited to serve at Point Hope.
